When I download images from my Canon S50, they are in jpeg. I save the jpegs on a CD to prevent future degradation. I then open selected ones, size them as tiff at 11×17" at 240 res on my hard drive. I make necessary adjustments and resize to smaller dimensions as needed. Sometimes I resize to 6×8 or smaller and save them on my hard drive as jpegs at 72 res for emailing. When I do this and mail them (lately to myself as a test ) they will not open, and I get an error message asking whethetr I want to search the web for a program to open them or designate the program. When I designate Photoshop CS (or 7.0 that I still have) they open. How can I save tiffs as jpegs, downsize, and have them open readily in emails?
