I work with a D-100 and raw NEF files in Photoshop 7. I typically do color enhancement in 16 bit raw and then convert to 8 bit for sharpening. I then "save as" a tiff file for later printing or further work, sometimes with layers, sometimes flattened.

My question is, other than perhaps preserving intermediate snapshots, am I losing anything by not storing my working/printing copy in PSD format rather than TIFF??
