I have Photoshop 7, and I’m running Windows XP Home. Before I could do the lighting effects fine, but now, when I click on Render > Lighting Effects, the menu pops up and everything. I set my settings, then click OK. Then it says that the lighting effects command could not be completed because of a program error.

Any ideas? 🙂

Then. When I try to go do lighting effects again, the menu doesn’t popup at all, until I close and reopen Photoshop.

Lighting Effects crashes my PS *all* the time. As much as I would like to use it, I shy away from it unless absolutely necessary. Even then, I save everything just in case. Whacking the prefs and re-installing doesn’t help. Neither does a fresh harddrive and OS. Been like this for me through 4 completely different machines with various Win operating systems.

Aw. That’s too bad. :/ I think the problem is using the Alpha Channel with the Lighting Effects. Because the lighting effects work without me using a alpha channel. But it doesn’t when I do.

They must have had a bad relationship. *smirk* Thanks you guys!

Ignore that – rebooted and solved the problem. Opps should of known better and tried that first…and am liking CS so far, as per all the slow down reports I’m finding it faster if anything.
