Hi! My name is Apoorva. I have installed Adobe Photoshop 7 on my pc. Their is a file I have seen in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\Extensions and the file name is MMXCore.8bx
I would like to know what is the use of this file. Is it related to any of the filters or any other features of Photoshop 7? What if I delete this file? What problems do I have to face in Adobe Photoshop 7? Is this file imaportant for Adobe Photoshop 7?

Waiting for a rpely…
Apoorva.

The MMXcore extension is used by Photoshop to access and take advantage of special operating system-level instruction sets. These instruction sets are hard coded into the architecture of MMX-enabled processor chips, and provide the ability to run larger, more complex logic and mathematical operations with each clock cycle of the processor.

It has nothing to do with filters. Leave it where it is.

apoorva, you should move it, not delete it, per that faq i ponted you to. if your problem goes away, it’s showing you have some defective hardware, probably cpu or mother board. take it to a shop, or if it’s under warrenty, get those parts replaced.
