I am trying to create a very small image in PhotoShop 5.0. My purpose is to use the image of a capital letter as a link in an Adobe Go-Live web page. The webpage is very content oriented and consists primarily of long lists of links to PDF files in size 12 font(all forms). Next to the links to the PDF files, we want to add links to other PDF files (guidelines & policies). We want these links to stand out so we have decided to create a purple capital letter P linking to corresponding policy and green capital letter G linking to corresponding guideline. If we do this directly in the text box in Adobe Go-Live, when we add the property to make it link, it automatically turn the P’s & G’s to blue with underline. So I decided to create a photoshop image of a purple P and green G and make that the link in Adobe Go-Live and it works.
My problem is that I cannot create the PhotoShop image small enough. The smallest image size I can create with a size 12 font letter still visible is .156 x .156 inches. The problem is that the crop tool is not enabled. And when I reduce the size of the image size, it also reduces the size of the letters. And the letters kind of float to the upper-right corner of the image and increases the spacing on my web page in between lines. Is there a buffer in the image size that I can reduce or omit? Why can’t I crop the image? Why can’t I make the image smaller and center it on the image? When I make the image smaller, either it reduces the size of the image alltogether OR all I see is the bottom part of the letter.
I appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
