When I drag a Targa with transparency in PS7, it shows the transparancey checkerboard(if PS7 is not updated with the new Targa plugin). The edges of the image are very smooth. When I open the exact same image in PS8, the checkerboard transparency is not there but is displayed as white. Also the edges of the image are very jagged. I decided to switch to PS8 because I needed the SWF export, but the image quality has dropped especially when saved as a GIF. The GIF image in PS7 is very smooth-edged like the Targa version but I can’t export to SWF. The GIF version in PS8 is jagged like the Targa version. I need to get rid of this jaggedness.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

PS 8 uses the "fixed" Targa using just alpha channels.
