You should be fine with both on your system. They are both full versions, and can be used independently.

Pamela,

Leave 7 on until you are fully conversant and happy with CS, THEN remove 7.0 – it will not harm your CS install

Thanks everyone! I am taking an online class from ed2go on Photoshop 7 and it is easier to follow using 7 than try to use CS right now. Everything seems to be working fine.
