Ver: Photoshop 5.5
OS: Windows XP Professional – NTFS

I am consistently getting this message on a number of JPEG files I’ve been trying to edit. I can open the exact same files using Macromedia Fireworks, Windows Fax & Image Viewer, Paint Shop Pro, etc. I have tried exporting them out of Fireworks to jpeg. Nothing works. I get the same error everytime. Oddly, I can open some large jpegs (2 mb). Just not the bulk of my 300k – 400k jpegs. I’ve searched the faqs, the web and just about everywhere I can think of but no luck.

Does anyone know why this is happening and what the solution is?

That error generally occurs when you try to open a file on a network drive.

I get the same error even after I’ve copied the file to my local drive and try to open it there.
