I was at ProPhoto last weekend and saw Photoshop CS upgrade for $169. I was going to get it but when I got home, I realised that I had Photoshop 6.0 educational. Is there a way to install an upgrade if all you have is the older educational versions??

In England, the educational version is identical to the full version. you just don’t get manuals and you have to be a teacher or student. i can think of no reason why the upgrade wouldn’t work.

Yes, you can upgrade to a retail version from academic.

There is absolutely no problem in upgrading an academic version. I started with one and am now at version CS. I upgraded without a hitch.

Not if you’re in the UK. In the UK there is *no* upgrade path from the educational version. Not only can you not upgrade to the "commercial" version, you cannot even upgrade the educational version to a newer educational version.
