I have read on other sites that you should not use Unsharp Mask to a JPEG File.I have a Canon EOS 10D Camera,what format should I use?

The reason for saving without unsharp mask is any publication that requests images always want them with no additional sharpening as they will tweak the files to fit their use.

This is not exactly true in my experience. USM is not part of the "tweaking" process at a publication printer, only curves to account for higher dot gains. And if the place knows what they are doing they don’t even bother with curves, they make the adjustment at the rip.
