Unless you use Wine. See PS on Wine <http://www.frankscorner.org/wine/>.

Gimp 1.25 = Photoshop 5.0.
Gimp 2.0 = ?.

See the Gimp <http://www.gimp.org/> 2.0 preview.

By the way, the current Windows build of Gimp is way behind the Linux version.
