I’m puzzled about why a simple graphic file remains quite large (despite what jpg settings I select). Here’s what I’ve done (which I thought seemed logical, but maybe it’s really dumb)…. I created a very simple logo in Illustrator and thought I’d use Photoshop to convert the logo.ai file into a logo.jpg file. The file remains about .5 Mb regardless of what I do. Is there a better way to make the Illustrator file smaller in Photoshop? Maybe I ought to post this question on the Illustrator forum too.

Thanks,

David

Use Photoshop’s Save for Web instead of Save As. You get better control and preview of the resulting file, and can scale the image before saving it, which I’m guessing is what you’ll need to do.

Maybe you’re saving the file with layers, which basically adds the PS file as comments to the JPEG.

Thank you. "Save for Web" worked like a charm!
