I am putting together a new computer with the new PCI-Express x16 video slot (AGP is not compatible). The sales rep does not know a lot about what photographers use for their computer equipment and his recommendation was…
nVidia 6600GT 128M DVI TV-Out VGA PCI-Express x16 ($175 CAD) The monitor that will be used will be a La Cie 319 LCD… an email to their reps suggested looking at the ATI cards… I am looking at the… X700Pro PCI-Ex Radeon 256M DDR TV-o DVi-i PCI-Express x16 ($255 CAD)… apparently the fan is noisy though.
I also am looking at the… Matrox Parhelia APVe 128MB DDR PCI Express x16 w/ Dual-DVI/TV/HDTV. ($390 CAD)
Does anyone have any other suggestions for this type of setup i.e. PCI Express cards?
While I have always liked Matrox for graphics the price is a little steep and in spite of the noise I am leaning toward the ATI. Thanks
