Line drawings from Photos

Using PS7 and being a newbie, I would like to be able to turn a color photo into a black-and-white line drawing, the sort of thing someone could color in with pencils (I have someone in my care who has a mental incapacity who likes coloring in).

Is it possible to do this effectively?

you can increase the effect with several photoshop filters/tools.
