Upgrading from 5 to CS

I have not used Photoshop 5 for about 4 or 5 years. Since then, I changed operating systems, moved three times, bought a new computer, and lost my documentation. I DO have the original CD’s however. Can I upgrade to CS? Will they ask for the Version 5 Serial Number? If so, what do I do since I no longer have it?

I would hope that you would have registered that software. From what I’ve read you need a version 5.5 CD to verify your eligibility so you may have to call Adobe and they’re going to want some kind of proof of ownership.

I checked with Adobe and I had registered (Thank God), so they gave me the serial number. Installing 5.0 and then upgrading will do it!
