Does Epson Perfection 1670 Photo do black/white too?

I’m thinking about getting this scanner. But at this Zdnet page, http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/4505-3136_16-30527150.html?tag= also , it says its input type is color. I wonder if it does
black/white too. And although it has ‘photo’ in its name, it can scan any paper document too, right?

I have the Epson Perfection 1670 scanner and it does do black & white photos. It also scans slides and negatives. When it scans the negatives they become a positive on your hard drive which I thought was "neat". Wombatwal
