I’m working with PS 7.0.1 and Image Ready and I have posted about a problem with the long file name being cut off. After some dialog with Trevor M., and Larry B., I thought I had the problem solved.
I know where to make the change so I can have the long file names work, however, Image Ready will not save the profile I’m creating, and PS is now saving the "Optimized" images off in never-never land, another drive and folder!
My question is this; how do I create a profile (in Image Ready) that I can save, that will be there when I go to compress an image for e-mail?
Here’s what I’ve done in Image Ready:
Open the image -> set image size to 640 x 480 -> click on the "2-up". Now here is where I need the profile to kick in. On the right side "optimized" dialog box, where it has "Settings", I want "JEPG Med" there, which is in the profile I’ve created, and the ability to save as a JPEG, with the file name as long as I want, in the same folder I’m currently working in. I’ve unchecked UNIX and MAC OS 9.
What happens is after opening, resizing and compressing, I need to go to "File" -> "Output Settings" -> choose "Saving Files" -> then in "Settings", choose "Jepg Med" – a profile I’ve set up, click OK. I have done a "Save" and a "Load", however, it’s not saving this profile.
There are tooooooo many steps to do a simple job! What am I missing?
Any suggestions?
Jan
