what’s the typical file requirement of a newspaper colour photo?

I have to submit a photo of an event to my local paper. They have not yet responded to my question asking for file preferences, e.g. size, pixels and clour profile.

Meantime can anyone advise on typical requirements. My 35mm neg was scanned at 2400ppi resulting in 14MB with Adobe rgb 1998 profile
