I am using PS7, XP with 1.5G ram.

My problem is I work on large composites (30×40 @240dpi) with approx. 125 individul photos. When I add the names under the photo’s, using the text tool the file size jumps from 258Mb to 950mb before I type the first letter. It quickly goes up from there.

I have reduced the history and cache levels to 1, but it hasn’t helped.

I am having to flatten the layers and purge all memory after each entry.

This happens on two different computers so I assume it is PS doing it. Any ideas anyone????

Thanks in advance

are you looking at the actual file size on disk or the scratch file size in the status bar?

I am looking at the status bar.. and the problem of course is it starts churning the disk when it runs out of ram…Gets pretty slow too.
