Hey all – I’m running into a really frustrating bug in Photoshop CS – while working on an image, my hotkeys to switch tools just stops dead.

I cannot use the standard Marquee ("m") or even Erase ("e") options even after clicking on that tool with my mouse. The only fix so far has been to close everything and restart photoshop.

Has anyone ran into this problem and hopefully come across a solution?

Much appreciated!

What keyboard are you running, TN? You may need an updated driver.

On my current machine it’s a standard Microsoft Natural keyboard – however this has been a problem on all machines I’ve run Photoshop on (Logitech and MS keyboards).

I think I may be triggering a hotkey accidentally – is it usually happens when I use the keyboard short cuts to do a Save – ie: ALT + F + S combination – next thing I know, I can’t use my hotkeys! 🙂

Much appreciated – although I’ll try grabbing the newest keyboard drivers just in case.

Cheers!

Ted,

it usually happens when I use the keyboard short cuts to do a Save – ie:
ALT + F + S combination <<

I know changing ingrained practice is difficult, but CTRL+S will do the same, hopefully without the side effects you are experiencing.
