one of our machines is having a strange problem whereas it will sometimes start loading photoshop but only display the pallets. Other times it is fine. The machine was Ok when running the same version of Photoshop under Windows 2000 but then was rebuilt to XP. After identifying this problem we tried reinstalling photoshop then rebuilding the machine again but the problem persists. i have just deleted the preferences file to see if this helps and am awaiting feedback but any other ideas?

Thanks.

I’m assuming that by rebuilding you’re referring to a clean install of XP, not an upgrade.

The problem sounds like a video driver issue. To test this, turn hardware acceleration down to zero (video
display>advanced>troubleshooting) and see if that fixes it. If it does, you need to get an updated driver.
