Thanks Travis for your answer. My camera did appear on the drive but when I clicked on it nothing happened. However I have now discovered how to access my pictures directly from the camera.I agree,it was much slower that when I got them from my hard drive.
Aericeus, I think no reply would have sufficed in this instance if that is the best answer you can come up with. I was under the (obviously wrong) illusion that News groups where for friendly advice.
Michael , Many thanks to you too.I think you misunderstood. I can get file directly from the hard drive but I wanted to get them directly from the camera which I have now done.I have been Photoshoping since version 4 so I do know my way around the program.

Hi all, I know that I have already asked this question and it was kindly
answered to a degree.I managed to get my pictures into photoshop by putting
them on my hard drive first but surely I should be able to load then directly into photoshop via the "File Browser"? Any ideas. Your help would
be much appreciated. ernst.
Depending on your computer OS the camera should apear as a drive on our computer when you connect it. But it will be a lot slower reading something from your camera compared to reading from your hard drive.
