Can someone tell me how to approximate a b&w pen & ink drawing from a color image, or at least point me to a tutorial? I’m using Photoshop 7.0!

Filter>Sketch>Graphic Pen is one way. It all depends on what kind of look you are after. "Pen and ink drawing" encompasses a lot of different styles.
