Hoping someone may be able to advise me on this problem I am having: I have owned CS2 Ver:9.0.2 for several years now & am content to continue using this rather than upgrade, as it exceeds all I need or can master.
I have not used the "calculations" portion of PhotoShop for many months. Now when I click on the ‘calculations’ menu button in the ‘Image’ drop down, PhotoShop freezes / locks-up immediately. This happens every time now that I try to access this feature. I have re- booted, restarted & reset numerous times over the past week with the same results each time. The graphic I have opened that I am working on, immediately turns to grayscale (b&w). The cursor continues to ‘work’ & I can point & click on any of the tools or any of the other menus, but nothing ever activates. I am un able to minimize or close the opened graphic / or PhotoShop itself. The only wayout is: Ctrl + Alt + Delete…… The Windows Task Manager shows PhotoShop "running" but the only way out is to "end task". The beep sound when I click on any of the tools or menu items does beep each time, but the program remains "frozen". The files are 8 bit, if that would matter.
Any ideas at all? I have searched these archives with no luck. It is installed on a PC with Windows XP. I use a pen / tablet with it & using this is the same as using the mouse. All the other tools / functions work fine.
Thanks for any advice. Curt H. Townsville, Queensland – Australia
