photoshop CS conflict with nikon view 6.21/6.22

Why does installing Nikon View 6.21/6.22 disable the Adobe Camera Raw 2.2 plug-in? My system operates in Windows XP Professional.

There’s plenty of discussion about this in the Camera Raw sub-forum at the top of the list. Apparently the Nikon installer, without asking, implants itself in the PSCS plug-in folder, thereby overriding the PS raw plug-in. You have to move or rename the Nikon plug-in to restore PS raw functionality.
