I have an Epson Perfection 1660 Photo scanner. I use Monaco Optix to build calibration profiles for my monitor, printer (Epson R800) and the scanner. I am using Windows XP and know which folder to put the profiles into. I know when to tell PSCS2 to use the printer/paper profile and how to tell my video driver (ATI card) to load the proper monitor profile.
However I am not sure if I have to tell either PSCS or the Epson Twain driver about the scanner profile or do they pick up that information automatically. I wrote an e-mail to Epson support, but the response only refered to the printer profiles.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

Put the profile in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color folder. (the WINDOWS folder name may vary from system to system)

Then scan the image, and use Photoshop to assign your scanner profile to the resulting image.

There may also be benefit to assigning the profile to your scanner in Start>Settings>Control Panel>Scanners and Cameras, for example if you are using XP professional, and software that uses WIA support for still image devices.

Thanks Mike. That is just the information that I needed. (Never realized that there was the Color Management tab under Scanner Properties.)
