many people included me have problems opening photoshop 7.0 ME files on new photoshop 8.0 ME that causes of text layers on psd file. found little trick that can help to open those files. but test layers will gone.

1st step Run adobe imageready 8.0 and open the file u want it will open the file but give an error message.
now link all your text layer together and merge it together. now you can save your file to new name to be able to open it in photoshop 8.0.

Hi! i have the opposite problem, i am trying to open PS CS files on PS 7.0 and have problems. when it opens on 7.0 it is completely flattened! does anyone have any suggestions? i downloaded the trial version of CS and didn’t realize i was saving things in that version. help!

debra – 16 bit/channel file by chance?
PS 7 doesn’t support layers in 16 bit/channel.
