Save For Web File Name limit?

When I use the save for web feature why are some of my file names truncated? I have adobe photoshop 7.0.

uncheck mac and unix file name compatibility in the file name options (drop down box)

Isn’t the option enabled for a good reason? i.e. compatibility of filenames with Mac and Unix

unless he doesn’t need that compatibility.

Thank you, I run on a windows server so I don’t need that compatibility and unchecking those has worked.
