When I look through my sunglasses, the world seems brighter. How can I simulate this (polarize) effect in photoshop?.

What you are seeing through your shades is a change in colour contrast which you are perceiving as a change in ‘brightness’ -in fact shades REDUCE ‘brightness’ – that’s what they are for!

The Curves menu (CTRL+M) is where you control contrast.

Try the BluBlockers® filter. It’s bundled with Zoom and Enhance and The Simpsons filter on the Stonecutters members Secret Effects CD.
