I’m attempting to create a logo with text in an arch around another figure. All attempts at transformation remain in a rectangular/quadrilateral area how can I make it an arch ? I am running XP and have photoshop 7.0 and photoshop elements.

If I understand the result you are looking for, you need to be able to set type on a curved path. PS 7 doesn’t have that feature. One would have to set each individual letter in PS. Photoshop CS, Illustrator and InDesign have the type on path feature as does Corel Draw. Personally I would suggest that logo design be done in Illustrator or Corel Draw.

Charles,

The only text effects similar to what you want is the warped text box in the options bar at the top. It is limited but should give you some success other than what Gary says about having to go the single letter route or upgrading to CS.

try it and see <http://www.smileyworld.com/toolbar/>

Text on a path was added to Photoshop CS. In 7.0, you’ll have to do each letter one at time, find a plugin, or do it in Illustrator or Corel Draw and bring the resulting graphic into Photoshop.

Thanks for the help, I’ll try the warped text and see what I can come up with. This is my first use of the forum, I’m pleasantly impressed !

Best wishes,

The warp text worked very well. Looks like you can get just about any effect desired by combining warp and free transform.
