Is there any way to make the file browser open in a older of choice rather than "My Pictures"? ANY other folder because I’ll never use "My Pictures" for anything…ever.

You need to edit your Registry which you MUST use caution:

For Windows look in the registry under the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Pictures

If you change the value here to another folder, that will be the new file browser default.
