Error prompt on startup –

error -> "Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again"

any ideas what this means and how i can fix ?

Happens from a fresh bootup of your computer? What OS? Is Norton <anything> running (other than the firewall)?

Yes to the fresh bootup…Windows XP…nothing is running at all other than Photoshop. Doing a search online, this is not a problem unique to me…there are several other forums where it is listed as a problem…but I can’t find a solution anywhere.

When you try to launch Photoshop CS, look at the bottom line of the splash screen. Underneath Adobe Systems Incorporated you should see a 20 digit number, which is the abbreviated serial number.
