toolbar there but no tools visible, have tried everything I know

I have photoshop 6 on windows and the toolbar is there but no tools are visible on it. I have reset tools and tried every "Show .. " on the menu bar.

what is going on?

Did you Trash/Reset Preferences?

That’s not the same thing. Quit out of Photoshop, hold down Alt+Ctrl+Shift while starting Photoshop up. You should get a dialog asking if you want to reset Prefs to their defaults.

Make sure any custom Actions, Brushes,. Styles, etc. you may have made or downloaded are Saved first or you may lose them.

Hope it works.
