While looking at an old set of articles at a website called creativepro.com, I saw some interesting options for selective sharpening, which requires masking of edges and applying sharpening to the masked areas. However, after creating what is essentially a layer mask in a separate file, I find that I simply don’t know how to take that separate image and insert that image as a layer mask on the original image. Stated another way: I created a duplicate layer in the original image, and created a layer mask for that layer. I created a layer mask by saving the original file as another file name and processed it to create what is essentially a layer mask. Now I want to take that separate file and use it as the layer mask in the original image file. How do I load that separate image into the layer mask? Help please!!
