hubby had old computer that was dying
a 1.8 Pentium with 512 ram
replaced with 3.0 and 1 GB ram (dell win xp, sp2 )
files moved over to it
gave PS CS 75% resources in preferences
he has no other programs open
it takes between 30 sec to 2 minutes!!!!
to open 9-11MB files!!!!! some of them when open though are doc size (3.05/394 mb), b/c so many layers
any ideas?? I told him too many layers!
it was suggested to rename the files
and that has not helped
it has an auto de-frag on the drive
paging file?
this comp has no scratch disk, but lot of space is on it
