Can’t open BMP on photoshop 5

Suddenly my photoshop 5.5 won’t open BMP files, it wants to ‘convert’ instead. I’m sure it’s a setting or something but I’m lost. Any ideas?

its probably converting the color space.

make sure that both color spaces are the same.

or

tell it not to convert. I forget how in 5.5 its been about 5 years since I used it.
