I used to visit a site that was like a forum where you could post your old photos that needed restoring and members would try and see what they could do to restore the image to it’s former glory. I appear to have lost the url I don’t suppose anyone knows it?

There are quite a few photo restoration groups on there, some of which do exactly what you’re asking.
