Chris:
3 CS2 reports of the same symptoms, which were also reported by some CS folks. Although the number of customers affected is low, it has a nasty effect on those who depend on droplets in their workflows.
Do these symptoms ring a bell with you? Sure sounds like some sort of Registry problem.
Can a "good Registry keys" be compared with suspected "bad Registry keys"?
How would you go about troubleshooting this one?
