Healing Brush Tool in CS

My computer keeps crashing when i use the healing brush tool, i have a G5 with 4 gigs of ram, 2 gigs allocated to photoshop, have my scratch drive at 10 gigs, and my secondary drive at 70 gigs, which is a scsi raided external unit. Can’t figure out why it crashes, the comp just totally freezes on me.

Another problem with the healing brush tool is it’s inconsitency when i use it, does anyone else have suggestions or similar problems?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by?

have my scratch drive at 10 gigs

Is that a separate dedicated partition on a separate hard drive, or a partition of your bootup drive?

What have you ruled out so far? Bad RAM?

If the computer is freezing on you – it probably means you have bad RAM. Of course, it could be a bad CPU or motherboard as well – but those aren’t as likely.
