Update problems after updating to Adobe Reader 7.0.5

After updating to Adobe Reader 7.0.5 I discovered that there was a Language Support update as well. However when I tried to download this, I was instructed to do a reboot after which the download manager would start the update. This didn’t happen and I was told to do another reboot. Has anyone else had this problem, if so how did you fix it. I am using Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell Dimension 8300.
