G5 update will not work with NEW Dual 2 G5

Running 7.0.1, and downloaded the Update, when trying to install I get the ‘Must install on a G5’ message…

Any help or ideas?

Is it a Dual 2ghz or a 2.5 machine?

That is correct.

When Apple wrote the installer, they checked for a specific chip version instead of checking for the G5 and newer G5 versions.

We’re trying to get them to fix the installer.

In the meantime, might I suggest an easy fix called Photoshop CS ?
