Hello,

I have designed my typography layout in photoshop, which I am saving for web as a .GIF. However, the quality is quite difficult to get right. Using the crisp setting makes the typography look good, but doesn’t have any contrast, and the sharp setting has too much contrast and loses the shape of the font.

Any advice, would be gratefully received.

Thanks
maxine

Can’t you do the typography in Flash? I believe Flash uses Vector based typography so it ought to give you more direct control over your results.

The trick in saving typography in gif format is to match your matte to the color it will appear over on the Web. If you’re animating the text in Flash, that could be hard to do.

I would say either do your typo in Flash, or output it as a PNG-24, not a GIF.
