This message appears every 4th or 5th time I select a field of text. After I restart Pshop I am once again able to select the text field. However, the problem eventually reappears. This happens across different psd files and text fields.

I’ve seen a few posts regarding this problem, but no responses with a solution that has worked. Any suggestions for a fix?

I am using CS2 on XP with 2gigs of RAM.

Thanks,

–Brian

I don’t know what the other posts recommended, but I recommend getting a new drive and reinstalling Photoshop and everything on it. I think this error occurs because of a physical disk error either on the drive you have PS installed on or the drive you’re using as a scratch disk. Adobe recommends a reinstall of Photoshop only, but that doesn’t work if there’s physical disk errors.
I know because I had this problem recently–for a month or more–and it got more frequent each day. And there are many sequences of events in Photoshop that can cause this error–so there’s no saying "if you do this, this is going to happen" because there’s too many variables. Once I got a new hard drive and reinstalled the OS and PS and everything else, the error disappeared.
