Howdy, Beautiful Photoshop People 🙂

Is there a way to share a layered transparent .psd file via a web site? I built a watermark template .psd in Photoshop 8.0 that I would like to share with others.

Muchas gracias 🙂

Upload it to your server like any other file, and put a link to it on a page. It should automatically download when clicked on.

It won’t display though, so best to provide a jpeg thumbnail on the page linking to it.

Watch out for sizes though. Many web servers won’t want anything too large.

You could zip it.

Thank you kind and beautiful sirs, Ed & Buko 🙂

My zipping skills are lacking so I think I’ll do that link thing 🙂

Thanx!

You can acquire them in about 60 seconds —if you want.

Even if you zip (or stuff) you still have to upload and link. Zipping or stuffing can make the file smaller and easier to handle/download. Also, if you want you can include an instruction (Read Me)file which might be appreciated by the person downloading.

The web (your web server) is just like another computer. Files of any kind can live on it. The only difference is that you can see some files with a web browser.

Using OSX.

At finder level.

Highlight file, then go to; File > Create Archive

the system will create a zipped version of the file that you can upload and download faster because it is smaller.

Thank you so much kind fellows, Ramon, Ed & Buko 🙂

Sheesh, I think I’ll try both now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me 🙂

Thanks buko, I was using Automator to build a layers workflow but gave up (even though Automator is super cool and have built some Photoshop to Mail workflows). It seems way fast to do it with the Finder.

I’ll let you know how it turns out 🙂
