I got a new MacBook and because of difficulties I had with using the Migration Assistant I deleted all the CS2 apps and prefs and reinstalled from disks. The installer crashed; I logged back on with a new user account with full admin privileges and the install completed. All the other apps worked except PS. I had repaired permissions before and after the install, and got no indication anything was amiss. The Console doesn’t show anything; the PS icon flashes quickly in the Dock and that’s it.
I also noticed the PreferencePane Version Cue didn’t work (seems to be quite a common problem on the Intel Macs), so I used the uninstaller to delete it.
I restarted, and lo and behold PS is working.
Dunno if the Version Cue thing was the solution, and I’m tired of dealing with it, but in case someone else is having similar problems maybe this’ll help.
I’m using the MacBook 2Ghz with 10.4.7, and waiting for a Universal CS.
