I have a set of images that were scanned with an Océ B&W large format scanner, and they’re all 1 bit and squashed horizontally by 50%. If I select View > Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction, it appears unsquashed, but Photoshop still still treats it like it’s squashed. i.e. holding down shift to select a square with the Marquee actually selects a rectangle. Copying the entire image and pasting it into a normal file only turns the normal file abnormal.
How do I permanently unsquash the image, so Photoshop treats it like a normal image with normal aspect ratio?
