Hello. Does anyone know how to download the Adobe Download Manager? I cannot seem to locate it on Adobe’s website.

Here is the help file for it < http://www.adobe.com/support/pdfs/AdobeDownloadManager_UserG uide.pdf>

Seems like it downloads automatically when you download the applications.

Thanks Don. I was looking for the file because apparently a security alert was issued for it through Secunia.com. I wanted to update it immediately. Maybe someone at Adobe will see this post and inform us of how it will update.

Link to security alert:

Adobe’s link reporting the alert, but does not show how to re-install. < http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb06-19.ht ml>

It states that the newest version of download manager 2.2 is not affected, however, I am unable to know what version I have installed on my machine. It does not show that information. Do you know how to find out which version you are running?

In a standard Windows install, look in the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ESD and you should find the download manager and its 3 associated files. Mine is version 2.0.0.43.

I just ran Adobe updater, and it deleted the ESD subdirectory entirely. I guess that’s how they deal with the bug, for now.

Thanks Michael for your input. When I run the download manager it just says "No downloads available at this time."

I also checked the ESD file and I show my version as 1.2.0.19.

I have no idea how my program will be updated or how to download a more current version. I wish Adobe was more specific about this.

Run the Adobe Updater.

I tried that. It said no updates were available. I also uninstalled the downloader from the ESD file and now I just update through Adobe Bridge. It still says no updates available…so maybe I have the most current version after all and the version in the ESD file could have been from an old install.

I will probably have to contact Adobe if I do not receive any product updates. Thanks for your help though.
