I am trying to install Photoshop ver 6 on a new computer (yes I know there are later versions). I have the original disk, etc and I am running Windows XP home edition. I put the disk in the drive and get the opening splash screen and the screen to select what I want to do and which program. I click instal Photoshop and the screen just stays the same.

In the task manager a setup process opens but nothing else. I can get the same result if I open the disk with explorer and double-click on the setup file. In fact I can successfully initiate several setup processes but no program installs. I have used this disk before the program installed without trouble.

Any ideas or suggestions are Welcome.
Thanks.

Try copying the installer to your harddrive and installing from there.

Also, disable any anti-virus software.

Good idea and I have tried that with the same result.
