Problems printing landscape on canon s9000

I am trying to print a landscape borderless photo on a canon s9000. This printer can do borderless printing. I setup the photo for landscape, print preview shows landscape and the printer is also setup for landscape. When I print, I get a white band on the top and bottom and the photo prints portrait. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Windows XP and Photo Elements 2.0 The photo prints fine if I use the Canon Utilities (but I lose the enhancements from photoshop, e.g. contrast).
