files not saving with extensions.

When using save as..files are saving as a number only with no .jpeg extension. (PS8CS) This happens automatically in my older versions. How do I change it?

Is windows set up to show an extension? By default this is off.

Thanks Don, didn’t know that. but can’t find the file in windows that will let me change this.

WIndows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View

Uncheck Hide Extensions for known File types and then Apply to All Folders
